Support Commonheart

Whether you’ve experienced Commonheart as a graduate of our home health services or as a family member whose loved one has received meaningful end-of-life care, you understand the compassion and dedication of our team and the impact of our services.

We invite you to recognize the efforts of Commonheart team members, leave a gift in memory of a loved one who benefitted from hospice care, or simply honor the important work we do throughout Wisconsin every day with a donation to the Marquardt Foundation in support of Commonheart.

Gifts to the Commonheart Fund go to support staff recognition opportunities and provide team members with tools and resources to better serve our patients. Gifts also support two impactful hospice programs– our Last Wishes and Because We Care programs. More information can be found on these below.

Last Wishes Program

Generous gifts from donors like you enable Commonheart to coordinate personalized events for our hospice patients that make “last wishes” come true. Our team works closely with our patients and their families to create meaningful and powerful experiences that bring joy at end-of-life. Last Wishes range from a trip to the theatre, taking in a ballgame at American Family Field, or going on a Harley ride... whatever brings a smile to the faces of those we serve.

These experiences typically require additional staff, equipment, and special transportation to make them a reality for our patients. Your donations provide the resources to arrange needed accommodations, so that patients and families are able to spend quality time together, sharing moments and lasting memories.

Because We Care

At Commonheart, our commitment to Honor the Everyday is sincere. When we identify an opportunity to celebrate those we serve, or to make their day special, our team members are empowered to do so through our Because We Care program.

Whether it’s making sure a birthday or anniversary is not forgotten, sending flowers to someone in need of a pick-me-up, or a small purchase inspired by a passing comment or story about the past, your gifts to Commonheart give us the financial flexibility to show we all care.

Opportunities to Give

Regardless of the amount you give or how you choose to give, your support is valued and appreciated. Not only will your gift make a difference in the lives of the older adults we serve; in many cases, your gift will benefit you by providing a charitable deduction. Common giving options include:

Online Donation – One time or reoccurring gifts can be made via debit or credit card here.

Check – Checks may be mailed to The Marquardt Foundation, 1045 Hill Street, Watertown, WI 53098. Please make checks out to “The Marquardt Foundation”.

Gifts in Memory or Tribute – Honor a loved one who received Commonheart services or recognize one of our team members by making us aware your donation is a memorial or tribute gift.

Bequests – Remembering the Marquardt Foundation in your estate plans or trust allows you to leave a lasting legacy and will benefit our organization for years to come.

Gifts of Stock – Gifts of stock can be transferred electronically to an account maintained by the Marquardt Foundation at a brokerage firm. Donations of appreciated stock not only benefit residents, but often provide tax benefits to the donor.

Gifts of Insurance – Many people own insurance policies no longer needed for their original purpose and may want to consider transferring these policies to the Marquardt Foundation.

Charitable Gift Annuities and Charitable Remainder Trusts – These gifts allow you to gift assets to the Foundation and receive benefits such as annual payment for life or a term of years and an immediate charitable deduction. The Marquardt Foundation utilizes the professional services of the Moravian Ministries Foundation in America as our planned giving advisor and funds manager.
